How Therapy Works
Therapy develops our awareness, enabling us to make new choices and change our lives for the better.
So therapy can help whether we’re feeling distressed by the past, troubled in the present or worried for the future.
Sometimes we're stuck, down, pissed-off, anxious, confused, despairing, lonely, lost - or worse. Sometimes we're not even sure what's wrong.
Either way, engaging with therapy can help us explore what's up - and learn to move on into the life we want.
How I Work
I provide a confidential space for us to work through whatever has brought you here. I can support you figuring out what that’s about - and navigating how and where you want to go next in your life.
I take an Integrative approach to psychotherapy. That means I draw upon a range of therapeutic models to ensure we develop the best approach for you.
I prefer to work on an open-ended basis. I’ve found this gives my clients whatever time they need to get the most out of our work together.
I work 1-to-1 with adult individuals. Everyone's welcome.
Hello, I’m Charlie. I'm an experienced and professionally qualified psychotherapist working 1-to-1 with adults in central London and online.
*I currently have no remaining availability for new clients.*
Experience: I have worked for two mental health services over the last five years, supporting a wide spectrum of clients through their challenges to reshape their lives. I am also a member of the assessment team at an inner-city mental health service.
Qualifications: I hold an MA and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling, following a seven-year programme at the Minster Centre - the pioneers of Integrative Therapy training in the UK.
Registration: I am a registered member of both of the UK’s national accrediting bodies the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I also hold an enhanced DBS clearance. This means I work responsibly in accordance with professionally recognised standards. I am in clinical supervision and undertake regular training. Both ensure my clients benefit from my continuous professional development.
Career: Previously, I worked for almost twenty years in security roles within government and the corporate sector, both in the UK and in conflict-zones abroad. I recognise the impact that high-pressure jobs, exposure to trauma and returning home can have upon our mental health and relationships.
Perspective: I know first-hand (from both chairs) what it takes to recognise when things don’t feel right, reach out for support and put in the work to change. I’m confident that therapy can enable all of us to develop and enjoy more manageable, satisfying lives.
