Gestalt Psychotherapy
I am a Gestalt Psychotherapist but I also have training and experience in working with CBT and Integrative therapies. My background is in Nursing and Midwifery as well as in Higher Education where I lecture in Counselling and Communication skills and Health and Social Care. I am a Consultant Trainer and Supervisor with the Manchester Gestalt Centre.
I have extensive experience within the NHS as well as in Primary Care and in the Voluntary Sector working with organisations specialising in bereavement and loss, anxiety and depression, HIV/AIDS, violence, relationships, substance abuse, and children. I also work creatively with art and use relaxation and mindfulness in my practice when relevant.
I facilitate supervision groups and one to one supervision for trainees and qualified practitioners.
My research is in group process and trauma.
I work relationally with an open mind, acceptance, a sense of humour and collaboration with the client at every step of the therapeutic process.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
