My belief is that the relationship is key and that if a therapist and client feel like they are a good fit, progress will be made. I am trained in the integrative and psychoanalytic tradition. I am informed by psychoanalytic ideas and thinking but also draw from other modalities. I like to think together with people around their current struggles and challenges, explore and think together about previous experiences, ways of being and coping and together exploring meaning, alternatives, patterns and change.
I am an integrative Psychotherapist and Parent Infant Psychotherapist. I have had over 25 years of experience working with adults, couples and families in the NHS and privately. I have a particular interest in working with new parents and parents to be around the issues of adjustment to parenthood on the individual, the couple and the child. I also work with people around infertility, birth trauma and baby loss.
My experience also lies in working with parents who have children with disabilities and neurodiversity.
I work with adults struggling with anxiety, depression and other life transitions and challenges.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
