My approach is one which holds the relationship as central to the therapeutic process and I offer a supportive space where you can be heard, understood, challenged and where you can grow in the ways that are right for you. I am trauma-informed, and I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, which might be more reflective, more active, challenging, or experiential depending on your needs and desired outcomes. My approach is always flexible and transparent.
I work with people experiencing trauma, attachment difficulties, anxiety, relational challenges, loss, body image difficulties and significant life transitions. This may include changes in relationships, family roles, work, health, belonging, purpose or sense of self. Therapy can offer a space to process what has happened, understand yourself more deeply, discover and develop resources and move towards the changes or growth that you are seeking for yourself.
I offer sessions in-person and online and am able to support outdoor work where appropriate and supportive.
I also offer supervision for practitioners. My supervision practice is collaborative, reflective and developmentally focused, offering a supportive and appropriately challenging space to explore clinical work, ethical practice, professional identity and ongoing learning.
Hi I'm Carlie I am a hypno-psychotherapist, EMDR therapist and Supervisor. I work in a relational, outcome-oriented and pluralistic way which is focussed on collaboration and centring your experience, beliefs, values and preferences. Together, we begin with where you are now, where you would like to be, and what kind of support feels most meaningful and useful for you.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
