I have over 20 years of providing short- and long-term counselling and psychotherapy.
You might seek therapy for many reasons. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by your emotions. Perhaps you feel angry, depressed, lonely or stuck. You might have suffered bereavement, or some other loss.
If you have suffered from trauma, you might look into EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). It is a specialised therapy that is recognised by The World Health Organisation and NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) as a leading therapy for treating the aftermath of trauma. It is now also used to relieve many disturbances such as panic attacks, phobias, obsessive thinking and addiction. The focus of EMDR is not on analysing symptoms, nor on learning to manage them, but on removing a person's vulnerability to whatever triggers the symptoms. It is a fast approach to bringing about lasting change.
Depending on what brings you to therapy, I can work with you in the traditional talking and exploring manner or we can decide to integrate EMDR into the process.
Come and meet me for a half-price first session. This is for you to decide whether I am the right therapist for you, and for me see whether I may be able to help you.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
