My Approach

I am an existential psychotherapist and so philosophical ideas underpin my work.

In practice, our sessions will usually consist of collaborative conversations intended to help you explore and re-examine your concerns and struggles.

These conversations may sometimes be quite intense and challenging. However, at other times they can be more playful and light. They will often tend to involve us reflecting together carefully on your relationships e.g. to yourself, to others, to the world, to the past, to the present, to the future etc.

The aim is that these deep, collaborative reflections will help you come to new understandings which, in turn, will lead to new possibilities for the way you see yourself and your life.

I have training and experience in working with a wide range of issues – please see the list below. Further, I have considerable experience of working with people in the creative industries and with young adults.

About Me

I have been a registered psychotherapist with the UKCP for over twenty years. I am also listed in its Directory of Supervisors.

Further, I am a registered senior accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In addition to being a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, I worked for twelve years as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Psychotherapy and Counselling at two leading training institutions. I have also had a long-standing association with the leading mental health charity, Mind, and held the position of Director of Counselling at one of its independent local community branches in east London.

Before training in psychotherapy and clinical supervision, I worked for over a decade in the performing arts.
