I have worked in the mental health field for 40 plus years and as a therapist for 30 of those. For 26 of those I was sceptical about the effectiveness of remote therapy.But lockdown forced me like everyone else to experiment and I am now persuaded it is well possible to do good work including making the emotional connection that I have always known lies at the heart of the therapeutic relationship

My Approach

My original training is in Gestalt and I retain strong links through a peer group that I joined 30 years ago with my Gestalt 'soul'. Human beings develop through integrating present experience into past models of the world. In this sense I think I and most therapists are integrative. With every new therapy encounter I seek to integrate what is unique about this person in this moment with my past experience , professional and personal.
