My Therapeutic Approach
One of the aspects of my approach as an Integrative psychotherapist means I will support you to understand your present day experiences within the context of your whole life, as our ways of 'being' are shaped and developed right from our very early experiences. This often means that the root of our difficulties can often be felt as out of control or in other words "beyond our conscious awareness". This approach can support clients to explore and understand why they might feel the way they do.
Another important element of my approach is that I am relational. This means that I am not solely focused on how a client understands and forms their relationships but rather that I meet you . This gives us a real or 'live' experience through which to work through things differently.
Couples Therapy
I'm a trained Couples Therapist and provide sessions for couples who wish to address and work through various relational issues,. My approach with couples closely mirrors the methods I use in individual psychotherapy clients, particularly by placing a strong emphasis on developmental understanding. This perspective considers growth and progression of each individual, as well as how these processes can be nurtured and supported within the context of their relationship. One key distinction between couples therapy and individual therapy is the work itself. In individual therapy, the client is the person themselves. In contrast, the primary client in couples therapy is the relationship itself, rather than the individual partners.
This shift in perspective allows for a more holistic and focused exploration of the dynamic and patterns that exist within partnership.
My fee is £75 for (65 minutes)
Movement Therapy
I also offer Eurythmy (movement ) therapy which is a type of movement therapy that addresses constitutional and health issues that may occur within our body. This movement therapy can be integrated into our psychotherapy work, to help reduce anxiety and depression while supporting to become a "better breather".
I specialised in developmental disorders while working in the NHS and a private GP practice. I also worked in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings both at home and abroad and gained a Masters in this subject in 2014.
Clinical Supervision
I'm a Clinical Supervisor and offer sessions for both Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
My supervisory approach is similar to that of my psychotherapy work, which involves exploration through inquiry and developing an attuned relationship with the supervisee, while supporting their work with clients.
I am available for all levels of supervisory work.
My fee individual therapy is £60 (1 hr)
My fee for couples therapy £75 (65min)
