I use Systemic Family/Couples Psychotherapy as my main approach, often integrated with other therapies such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems Therapy and attachment-based approaches tailored to meet your needs. We will build an understanding of your goals for change and tailor therapy to meet your needs. We will consider your beliefs, culture, and life experiences, and your family and wider social context, and you will be encouraged to identify your strengths, skills and successes.
I enjoy working collaboratively and flexibly, and have an open, transparent and non-judgemental approach. I pay attention to creating a compassionate, trusting and safe therapeutic environment where you can have a voice, explore issues at your own pace and empower yourself to make changes. I welcome people with diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
I'm a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Systemic Family/Couples Psychotherapist with nearly 30 years’ experience working in the NHS and private practice.
I can help if you want to improve and strengthen your relationships and navigate life changes and transitions. This may include improving communication and decision-making, enhancing intimacy, closeness and connection, reducing conflict and blame, overcoming mental or physical health difficulties, changing patterns of unhelpful behaviour and finding ways to adjust to change or adversity.
I also have experience of leading and developing psychological services, and a Diploma in Systemic Leadership, Consultation and Coaching, so I can support you with workplace issues and dilemmas.
I am a registered systemic supervisor, so can offer Systemic clinical supervision and reflective practice.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
