My Approach

I am a great believer that we need to invest in ourselves. When life becomes difficult and those pieces are just not fitting (for example suffering with anxiety and not understanding why; experiencing grief and having to juggle life; looking at the different parts of our lives and trying to work out how they can be more harmonious e.g. work, relationships), therapy gives you the opportunity to focus on yourself, make you the priority in an otherwise busy life. I have been through such times and it encouraged me to to train as a counsellor then a psychotherapist to help clients with general mental health issues and other life difficulties, such as grief and other losses, addiction, sexuality, relationships, domestic abuse and anger issues.

Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.

Counselling takes place in a safe space, where I will listen with sensitivity, empathy and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.

About Me

My name is Mandy and I provide counselling, psychotherapy and coaching in Eastleigh, Hampshire as well as online via Zoom.

I have worked as a Probation Officer for 20 years. This has given me the experience and ability to sit with the uncomfortable and create a therapeutic relationship which is non-judgemental and warm.

The client's needs are at the centre of that working relationship be it short- or long-term therapy. I am aware coming to therapy is not easy. However, my aim is for us to work together to get a better understanding of why those pieces of the jigsaw are not fitting together. I do this through working creatively using various techniques.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Groups
  • Individuals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Addictions can be varied and impact on our daily life and relationships. I work with clients who are struggling with addiction, but also family members, partners etc who can be affected. I provide a non-judgemental safe space to explore the complexities of addiction.
Anger is an emotion we can express when we are struggling to cope or express other emotions. It is also an emotion that is ok to express provided it causes no-one harm. Being able to explore anger in therapy helps individuals to understand their emotions and develop strategies to express anger in a productive and healthy way.
I am passionate about working with all types of bereavement and grief. From anticipatory grief to post loss. Bereavement is not always the death of someone, it can be loss of identity, a living loss e.g. loss of contact, retirement, redundancy, divorce etc.
Relationships are the foundation of our lives. Everyday we interact with other be it another human being, pet or nature. They all provide sustenance to our wellbeing. I therefore offer a safe place for clients to explore attachment and relationships as a well to develop more fulfilling interaction with others. Sometimes this can lead to saying "goodbye" and working through the emotional disentanglement.
I am a qualified integrative supervisor. I work in-person or online. Also happy to discuss forming a potential group.
