No one is immune to the different stresses life challenges us with. Each experience is unique to us; how we think and feel is so individual, which can lead to misunderstandings or conflict. When we struggle it invariably affects all our relationships. Therefore, couples or family psychotherapy, a systemic lens can provide a closer look within a safe therapeutic space to explore these emotions and develop new insights into the negative patterns that get created and feel stuck within the family/work/wider systems.
Through this systemic experience you will gain new perspectives that can change how you connect with others as well as how you feel about yourself. Those in therapy, can also learn how to provide healthy communication, learn new ways of managing conflicts and work on providing support, understanding and compassion within the couple/family network. This in turn, can strengthen bonds to improve individual and families’ mental health and increase a sense of connection and understanding.
I take pride in building relationships with individuals, couples and families with the aim of creating a safe space where each person’s experience is heard and valued. I look to better understand patterns that may be at play in your relationships, I work alongside you, at your pace, as only you are the experts in your life. My role is to collaborate with you, appreciate your situation and utilise my knowledge impartially to support you in your personal discoveries,
I have over thirty years experience supporting and empowering people.
I do not believe in the limitations of diagnosis and my passion is to find understanding in what many call symptoms, and what I call responses to life's experiences. Together we can explore and discover the fundamental roots of issues to create positive change.
My training is a Systemic Family Psychotherapist and a Clinical Supervisor.
Systemic family therapy has been found to be effective for children's and adults' difficulties, across the lifecycle, spanning all developmental stages from babies to old age.
I work with individuals therapeutically, in couples or with their families and/or significant others. This enables the use of individuals’ relationships as a resource, and reduces stress and difficulties for all family members.
My lens is not through a diagnostic label, nor a trauma informed one. My lens is via a compassionate human to human perspective. Any one of us can need support at anytime in life, my approach is to support you to find your way through.
I am always happy to have an initial conversation so we can feel together if we are a good fit.
