My Approach

I work with individuals, couples and parents from my therapy room in the Ouseburn. I also offer online sessions via zoom.

I offer a free 30 minute zoom call to meet and see if we feel like a good match, and so you can ask any questions you might have.

After this we begin by exploring your goals for therapy and create a plan that works towards meeting these goals.

Sometimes you might need short term work to process something specific or to help make a decision. We can discuss this and contract for focussed work within a specific timeframe.

Where the difficulties are ongoing and deep rooted, the plan is often to work weekly whilst building a secure therapeutic relationship and getting to know your story. We explore where difficulties began and make sense of how they have protected you so far. Exploring this allows you to understand yourself better and choose new more helpful ways of being and thinking. We continue the work until you feel you have got what you needed and then we work towards an ending that is supportive and honours the work you have done and the relationship we have built.

I truly believe that people are doing their best given their circumstances which means that as your therapist I will see, hear and understand you with empathy and unconditional positive regard. I am warm, present and kindly curious so will help you feel safe to share whatever you need to. If it is right for you, I can also offer techniques and exercises, which may help you to change your perspective and respond differently to your experiences. I will listen to you and support you, no matter how difficult your experience, at a pace that is determined by you.

I have experience working with people who are neurodivergent, people of different sexualities and genders and people in different relationship structures. I value diversity and want my clients to follow what is right for them.

No matter what you are going through with the right support you can find your way to living a more authentic and happier life.

I look forward to hearing from you, and welcome any questions that you may have, so please feel free to get in touch.

About Me

I have been a therapist for over ten years and I love my work. I offer integrative psychotherapy which means I tailor my approach to suit you and your needs from a wide range of theories and techniques.

I am a mother of two, I love nature and gardening and one of my happy places is at my allotment or by my pond. I have three cats and I love all animals, particularly the misunderstood ones. I like to keep fit and I love singing and dancing. I also love being creative and making art.

I have wonderful people in my life, both neurodivergent and neurotypical. I absolutely value and love them all because of who they are as individuals, and I also know the ways in which they struggle especially for those whose needs don’t align with a neurotypical society.

I have been through my own therapeutic journey so I have experienced the power of healing that can come from the right therapeutic relationship.
