I bring acceptance and warmth to my work with clients. It is well documented that the most healing aspect of therapy is the trusting relationship between client and therapist. It is the quality of this relationship which helps you to get beneath the surface and bring to light things which may be holding you back. Working with me will feel like a conversation, one which helps you arrive at a place of self-acceptance, self-knowledge and a new kindness towards yourself.
I work online via zoom and also in person in Ashwell, Hertfordshire, with individuals over the age of 18. As a white, British, heterosexual, able-bodied cisgender female, I acknowledge the privilege inherent in my identity. I recognise the complexity and deeply personal aspects of intersecting identities and welcome working with people from all cultural backgrounds, where I aim to provide a safe and supportive space for exploration.
There can be many different reasons to turn to therapy and I aim to build relationships with my clients which are empowering and healing. I will listen carefully and gently explore where you are in your life and what you would like to achieve through therapy.
Finding a therapist you feel comfortable with can feel daunting, therefore I offer a free initial 20 minute telephone consultation to help you decide whether you would like to work with me. Whatever challenges you're navigating, I offer a safe and authentic space where we can think together about what is happening, and where you will feel seen and understood. I believe that at some point during our lives we can all benefit from good therapy.
Psychosynthesis is the modality I was trained in, and offers a therapy which is tailored to each client’s individual needs. I work integratively, which means that I draw from a variety of modalities and theories and can adapt my style of working to suit you. I work creatively and include parts work (based on IFS and Psychosynthesis), mindfulness techniques, Compassionate Inquiry (Gabor Mate) and inner child work, to name a few, to discover and resolve patterns and beliefs which may be having a negative impact on your self-esteem and relationships.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
