I am a Clinical Psychotherapist and have been accredited by the UKCP since 2012. I am a member of the EMDR Association.
My core approach is Transactional analysis integrated with person centred therapy, CBT and Gestalt therapy. I am an EMDR practitioner and find this approach very useful in working with clients who have experienced trauma.
I have worked in mental health for almost 20 years, within a diverse range of settings, such as NHS primary care, the prison service, an eating disorders service and worked solely with survivors of sexual violence for more than 10 years.
I have a specialist knowledge in working with trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, sexual violence, eating disorders, alongside presenting problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, low self esteem, LGBTQ, relationship difficulties, bereavement and OCD.
My relationship with clients is at the heart of my work, therefore building trust and rapport is at the forefront. I am a warm and empathic practitioner and offer a safe and respectful place to explore feelings in order for change to begin.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
