My approach to therapy is deeply relational and collaborative. As Irvin Yalom once said, “A different therapy must be constructed for each because each has a unique story.” This sentiment reflects my own belief that therapy cannot be one-size-fits-all; it must honour the uniqueness of every individual. In our work together, I strive to create a space where a person’s story is not only heard but valued, free from judgment or preconceived notions. This space allows experiences and emotions to unfold naturally.
At the heart of my practice is a calm, non-judgmental presence, grounded in compassion and openness. These qualities enable me to truly listen, to be present with my client’s thoughts and feelings, and to help them explore the deeply embedded aspects of their very existence in an unpredictable world. My clients don’t need to bring anything to therapy other than themselves, as they are in the moment. From there, everything else can naturally unfold.
Looking back on my journey, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to walk alongside individuals as they navigate their challenges, heal from trauma and wounding’s, and move toward personal growth.
Therapy is not about fixing or directing—it’s about being present with another person’s story, holding space for their experiences, and offering guidance as needed.
My lived experience and training have given me the tools to provide this support with compassion, openness, and an unwavering commitment to the client’s well-being.
The single most important lesson I’ve learned is that everyone deserves to be heard. Therapy is where a person’s voice can be found, where their story can unfold in a safe, supportive environment. My role is to listen, to guide, and to be present with my clients—whatever their journey may be.
My journey into the world of therapy began more than 30 years ago, rooted in a deep curiosity about the human condition and a desire to help others navigate life’s complexities. Over the years, my professional path has evolved organically, much like the lives of the individuals I have been privileged to support. It’s a journey that has led me to gain diverse qualifications and experiences, all of which have shaped my holistic, integrative approach to therapy today.
My initial passion for assisting others was sparked by my exploration of Eastern philosophy and psychology. Concepts of mindfulness and meditation resonated with me deeply, prompting me to pursue training in various remedial movement and postural integration techniques. This early interest in the mind-body connection only deepened as I became a bodyworker and SomatoEmotional Release® practitioner. Working with individuals facing terminal and chronic illnesses, trauma, immune disorders, and brain injuries brought me closer to understanding the intricate relationship between emotional and physical health.
A life-altering event in 2014 served as a turning point, profoundly shifting my perspective. It became clear that my calling was to offer even more focused care to those confronting end-of-life issues, existential dilemmas, post-traumatic stress and people on the neurodiverse spectrum. This pivotal moment led me to formally pursue psychotherapy, and today, I serve as a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and Clinical Psychotherapist.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
