My Approach

Life often involves challenges and we all experience difficulties at some time in our lives. Whether this is within the family, as separated parents or between friends, it can have a negative effect on well-being and home life. I understand this sense of feeling overwhelmed or lost. Relationships matter and everyone needs a little extra support sometimes. My approach is person-centred, giving you the space to talk, to be heard and putting you at the heart of every conversation.

We will meet for an initial session to talk about the issues that have led you to seek help from a therapist. The session(s) are confidential and can take place online or in-person.

About Me

I am a qualified Systemic Family Therapist and Family Mediator with 14+ years experience. I have supported many individuals and families to resolve difficult disputes and take pride in the value and impact of the work I do in transforming clients’ lives. Finding the right fit is important. What makes my therapeutic practice different from others in the same field is my personal touch as no two families, couples or individuals are the same.

I work with

  • Children and young people
  • Companies
  • Couples
  • Families
  • Groups
  • Individuals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Feeling anxious is a perfectly natural reaction to some situations and it is something everyone experiences at times. Anxiety can help us to focus or take extra care when needed, but if it gets too much or goes on for a while, it can affect our daily life. There are ways to deal with anxiety that really work and I can help.
I know that when a relationship is struggling you may feel a sense of loss and sadness for what might have been. Sometimes there is fear and anger as the future looks uncertain. It can be overwhelming to think about what to do. I can get 'stuck' conversations moving by helping you focus on what is working and what could be better.
Family means something different to everyone from relatives to friends. Who is part of your family is up to you, ‘family is what you make it’. Sometimes our connections with others can come under strain and it might be hard to get along. Life events like separation or divorce or blended families can cause stress or there may be loss due to bereavement or physical illness or disability.
Mental health issues can have a wide range of causes and I can help you explore this.
While change is part of life, what is important is how we manage it in a way that supports and helps one another. I know that when difficulties escalate people often stop hearing what others are saying. My therapeutic approach can help you work things out together, building on your family strengths and confidence to manage any future challenges.
