I originally trained as an integrative body psychotherapist before completing an MA in Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy at Tavistock Relationships and have been working since 2001. I work within an integrative frame as I draw from different concepts and schools of thought in the psychotherapeutic world to tailer my approach to the specific needs of both the individual and couples I work with. I work from a holistic standpoint aiming at the integration of body and mind. I also focus on bringing unconscious material into consciousness by exploring how our past impacts our present, colouring our relating and reactions in ways that we are not aware of.
I am an Individual Psychotherapist as well as a Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (BPC registered). With over twenty years experience as a clinician, I provide a confidential, safe space to explore what may be causing difficulties for the individual or in the couple relationship. I have moved my private practice online as I have relocated and am now living in Portugal. I am a member of the Relational School, an accredited member of the BPC and the UKCP, and a Graduate Member of Tavistock Relationships. I am fluent in both English and Portuguese.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
