I am a qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapist with more than 20 years experience of working in NHS and Social Care services. My training includes Integrative Psychotherapy, Individual Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Group Analytic Group Work. In my NHS work I offer both individual and group psychotherapy. I have worked in acute and long term mental health settings and have extensive experience of working in depth with complex trauma.
In psychoanalytic psychotherapy we think about early relationships and explore your experience and understanding of these. Exploring how things have been and what has happened helps to identify and understand the historical roots of unhelpful patterns in current relationships. This in turn helps with recognising the destructive aspects of these patterns. Through this process of exploration and understanding, new and different ways of relating to yourself and others at home, work and elsewhere can be developed.
In my private practice I offer short and long term individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The duration and frequency of therapy is discussed during an initial consultation appointment.
I hold a Diploma of Proficiency in Psychoanalytic Supervision awarded by the Guild of Psychotherapists.
