I am an integrative psychotherapist and supervisor with a strong theoretical background in contemporary relational psychoanalysis. I take a very active and engaged role in my supervision practice. I also offer organisational consultation and am a public speaker, making the insights of psychology and psychotherapy more accessible and understandable to the public.
I am sorry but I am not currently taking on any new clients or supervisees but I am open for psychological consultation, training, and public speaking engagements.
I am a UKCP registered integrative psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice in Shoreditch, London. I am a founding and former executive chair of The Relational School UK, Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Department for Psychoanalytic and Psychosocial studies at the University of Essex. In addition to my clinical work I am also an author, media contributor, consultant, and international speaker offering psychological insights to a variety of audiences.
Drawing from my experience working with young people in schools, in young people's media, and in further and higher education, I have written an illustrated children’s self help book entitled "Keep Your Cool: how to deal with life’s worries and stress" which is widely used in schools, libraries, in private homes around the world. I am also the author of another self help book for adults called "The Little Book of Calm: tame your anxieties, face your fears, and live free" published by Penguin.
Fascinated by developments in contemporary culture, I seek to understand it better by using ideas from contemporary psychoanalysis. I explore these ideas regularly through my blog, and my book: "The Psychodynamics of Social Networking: connected up instantaneous culture and the self."
