Hello, my name is Sarah, and I practice depth psychotherapy and counselling. My approach is transpersonal integrative, which means that I tailor my therapeutic approach to my clients needs. I draw on different theoretical models including the psychodynamic model, Jung, Rogers, and Gestalt. I help clients gain a deeper understanding of their self by working through blocks and difficulties, exploring why these may have arisen, and how to learn and move on from them.
Often, creativity is needed to find solutions to life challenges. I can help facilitate this for clients through creative techniques such as visualisations, role play, sand tray, and dream work. I also offer meditation and mindfulness practices.
Before training as a psychotherapist I worked as a mental health practitioner in various social care settings, including addictions rehabilitation, so I have a lot of practical experience and knowledge of mental distress in all its forms, and how a person's environment can impact on their mental health.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
