I wish to promote and nurture your natural healing within, by providing a safe environment to explore what may be bringing you to therapy at this time in your life. There may be many reasons for you considering therapy. You may feel that you would benefit from support and having a confidential environment where you can unburden your troubles, to speak freely about anything that comes to your mind.
My intentions are to help foster self-compassion and encourage your sense of self-worth. I hope therapy with me will support you to feel calmer, less stressed and to make-meaning in your life.
Some of the areas I work with include, though are not limited to:
• Aloneness
• Anger
• Anxiety, fears and panic
• Bereavement, grief and loss
• Body image
• Depression and mood swings
• Family relationships
• Relationship worries
• Self-esteem, self-worth and self-confidence
• Stress, feeling stuck and overwhelmed
• Work related stress and job loss
I offer both short and long-term therapy, working with adults and young people from my consulting rooms at Barnsbury Therapy Rooms. I also offer online therapy via video, phone, email, or live chat.
My approach includes: Integrative Psychotherapy, Arts Psychotherapy and Bereavement Therapy. Please see below for further details about the way I work.
Integrative Psychotherapy
I am a compassionate psychotherapist and am mindful to individually tailor a blend of therapy approaches to your needs. These approaches include drawing upon the therapy relationship, your strengths and beliefs, as well as offering a non-judgmental place to support a healthier sense of self, understand your feelings and to gain a sense of meaning in your life.
Arts Psychotherapy
Sometimes, words are not enough and as we go about our daily lives, we may not be aware how our thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and behaviours are affected by our past experiences.
Our memories can create self-limiting patterns in our relationships and our ways of being in the world. When working with arts psychotherapy (by using the language of physical sensations, art materials or creative writing) this can provide us with the potential for feelings and thoughts to be expressed and reflected upon together. It may be helpful to know that there is no need for you to have had any previous art experience or artistic skills to engage with expressive arts psychotherapy.
Bereavement Therapy
Please see my special interest section for further details.
I am a UKCP registered integrative psychotherapist and HCPC registered art therapist. I welcome young people and adults to my practice. By encouraging a collaborative partnership between us, I wish to support you to feel better and help you lead a fulfilling life.
If you’re interested in potentially working with me, please get in touch. We would start by having a brief, free, no obligation 15-minute phone call to discuss what you’re looking for help with, and whether I might be a suitable therapist for your needs.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
